The Long Hair Look Using Hair Extensions
Filed Under Elasticity | Comments Off
A air extensions is just a hairpiece that is a attached to the natural hair or scalp; the extensions improve the length of the hair and thickness. The natural hair of Caucasians is different from that of Asians or Afro-Americans and you should choose an extension that will match your own hair. If you are not careful the wrong tension and additional stress at the scalp could result in soreness around the scalp and the possibility of your hair falling out. Many of today’s methods are much faster and can cause less damage to the natural hair. Human hair is very heavy and the extra added weight to already damaged hair can cause the natural hair to fall out—even causing permanent hair loss. Clip-in extensions are suitable for people whose natural hair is shoulder length or longer. If you have a short haircut, but are dying for long locks, buy a wig that is similar in color to your natural hair. Hair extensions are in demand, everyone want to have longer hair, they don’t want to wait for their hair to grow longer because this is the now generation so everyone finds the fast and easy way to get longer hair, when adding the extension gives a more sophisticated look. With fusion hair extensions, the extensions should be indistinguishable from your natural hair. Hair extensions can be added to your own natural hair to add length, volume, and body. Using chemicals is a big problem with hair extensions. The chemicals can irritate your scalp.
With human hair extensions, wearers are not locked into a particular color or style. Stylist can match the texture and color of the hair extensions to your hair, stylist have many choices and varieties to choose from.. The simple solution is to get thicker hair is to add hair extensions and it can add little excitement to curly, thick or wavy hair in any color or style.

Going Natural: Tips on Transitioning From Relaxed to Natural Hair
Filed Under Health | Comments Off
From years of experience as a stylist of natural hair, I have discovered that natural hair thrives best and remains more moisturized and manageable when natural products are used on the tresses and scalp. Of course, you may be confused about where to start. There are so many companies claiming to be “natural” or placing key phrases like olive oil, jojoba, shea, aloe, honey, and tea tree on their bottles that it is hard to not be seduced by all the minutia. Well, have no fear, I have some simple tips and a great product that is all natural and proven to work wonders on ethnic natural hair.
When first going natural, my clients often complained about their hair texture, softness, and manageability. They often encountered frizziness, dryness, flyaways, and dullness. How can you combat this? Moisture. Moisture. Moisture, Moisturize the ends of your hair and scalp 2-3 times a days with light natural oils. Olive and jojoba oil are fabulous for thirsty ends and scalps. But, make sure you get the pure stuff. Only use cold pressed, extra virgin olive oil and cold pressed jojoba oil, as they contain the most nutrients.
Finding a high quality, detangling shampoo and conditioner can also be tough. What should you do? Only use natural shampoos. You can either make your own or purchase one. Often, natural hair stylists recommended washing natural hair with conditioners to avoid placing hair-drying sulfates on the hair. However, you have to worry about more than sulfates damaging or drying your hair when using traditional conditioners—parabens, silicones, alcohols, glycols, and phosphates also pack a powerful punch to natural hair. Your best bet is to purchase a completely all natural product, such as Beauty 4 Ashes GodHead® Silky Smooth ® for Ethnic Hair or Hair Organix ® Systems for Ethnic Hair. For the past year, I have used the Silky Smooth shampoo and conditioner on my natural clients’ hair and noticed tremendous results. Because the shampoo and conditioner contain natural oils such as shea, jojoba, wheat germ, coconut, and avocado, natural hair, even hair that is ***** or more coarse, is left separated and soft. It uncoils tight curls while still giving the hair body and texture. It also makes the hair hang slightly longer. This is a benefit, especially when I set my natural clients hair. Although Beauty 4 Ashes ® makes products specifically for salons, you can also find many of their products on their website, wwwdiscoverb4acom.
You may be thinking that all this information is fabulous, but how can I style my hair from home. There is hope. You can create nice, professional styles by simply parting your hair into 12 even sections and twisting each of those sections. Leave the twists in overnight and loose them in the morning. You will wake up to a nice, full, wavy head of hair. There are also many sites devoted to providing hair styles for natural heads. So, don’t be dismayed. Your life is not over. Your hair is still fabulous and now you can moisturize it, shampoo it, condition it, and style it, without using chemicals whatsoever.

My mom is a hair stylist, and she is suffering from a problem with hair INSIDE of her fingernails?
Filed Under Skin Conditions | Comments Off
Yes, you read that correctly. There is hair INSIDE of her fingernails, and it always gets stuck in there, nearly everyday. She just keeps using random sharp objects to remove it, and it is causing infections. She isn’t really going anything about it.
Oh, and just for you people that don’t have common sense, it is the hair form the customers that gets stuck inside of her fingernails. It isn’t growing inside of there.
So, does another hair stylist have something to say about this, or…?
I didn’t ask for a lecture, and as I recall, this is not the place to lecture people, not to mention, waste space.
She has very long fingernails. People have told her to clip them…but she won’t. Stubborn woman.
Also, she REFUSES to wear gloves, complaining that her scissors slip when she does so.

Short Hair after Hair Restoration through Strip
Filed Under Hair Loss | Comments Off
Follicular unit transplant through strip technique is considered the golden standard for hair restoration in both men and women suffering from male or female pattern baldness and it continues to be practiced and used on thousands of patients around the world. The only remaining con to this procedure is the linear scar that remains in the donor area. Although patients understand the benefits of hair restoration surgery, they sometimes seem to be taken back because of the remaining scar. But for those who go through with their transplant, especially men, they ask if there is another way to avoid having such a visible scar or not have a scar at all? What are the chances of the scar widening and becoming more visible?
Most male patients like to keep their hair at a shorter length. However, the length of hair is obviously up to the patient’s best disclosure. In some cases, any hair length under 1/4” or #2 buzz clip may make the scar more apparent. A hair stylist can also give you better suggestions on hair length and combing techniques depending on the width of the scar and density of hair.
The linear scar that is left after a hair restoration procedure through strip technique is really inevitable but can be made less visible depending on your hair transplant surgeon. Most facilities that do hair transplants practice a technique known as trichophytic closure for their patients. Trichophytic closure is a technique used where hair follicles will penetrate through the donor scar which, in turn, minimizes its visibility and detect ability. This can be compromised if the scar ends up stretching or widening. Another study conducted has shown that BOTOX can be used to prevent further stretching or widening of the donor scar and must be applied by a professional physician for best results.
The only other option available to minimize scarring is through a different hair transplant technique called follicular unit extraction (FUE). This technique is done by selectively extracting follicular units and refining them for hair transplantation. The result is undetectable and the downtime is even less than that of follicular unit transplantation through strip technique. This procedure can also be used to fill in existing scars where hair use to grow or the donor scar area. Findings on this type of procedure were originally published when conducted on patients with neurological scar revision.
